It looks chaotic from outside, but the rules are tight and learnable in about ten minutes. Pusoy Dos at Pusoy: Hindi Pareho
Una sa lahat, linawin natin. Pusoy Dos is a shedding game, kamukha ng Big Two, kung saan ang goal ay maubos ang cards mo bago ang iba. Pusoy, sometimes called Chinese poker or thirteen-card poker, is a completely different game where you arrange your thirteen cards into three poker hands and compare them against every opponent. This page is about Pusoy Dos only. It is normally played socially, four players, one standard 52-card deck, thirteen cards each. With three players, some groups deal seventeen each and set aside one card, others deal thirteen each and leave thirteen unused. Paano Magsimula
- Shuffle and deal thirteen cards to each of the four players. Walang natitirang cards sa deck.
- Whoever holds the 3 of clubs leads the first play of the game, and that play must contain the 3 of clubs itself.
- Play moves in one direction around the table. Each player either beats the previous play using the same type of play, or passes.
- Once you pass, you are out for that round. Hindi ka na makakasabat hanggang matapos ang round.
- When everyone else has passed, the last player who put down cards wins the round and leads the next one with any valid play.
- Repeat until somebody empties their hand. Siya ang panalo, and the rest score penalties for what they still hold.
Anong Pwedeng Ilaro
There are only three shapes of play in standard Pusoy Dos: a single card, a pair, or a five-card hand. Take note: three-of-a-kind on its own is not a valid play in the standard ruleset, unlike some Big Two variants. You must always answer with the same shape, so a pair can only be beaten by a higher pair, never by a single or a five-card hand.

Because 2 is the highest rank, many groups allow J-Q-K-A-2 as the strongest straight, while others treat A-2-3-4-5 as valid too. Neither is universal. Agree on it before the first deal, kasama na kung suit or high card ang mag-break ng tie sa flush.
Scoring at Parusa
- The winner scores nothing. Everyone else pays based on the number of cards left in hand, at an agreed peso or point value per card.
- Most groups double the penalty for a player left holding ten or more cards.
- Holding all thirteen, meaning you never played a single card the whole game, is the sunog and is usually tripled.
- Some tables add a rule that the 2 of diamonds in your remaining hand carries an extra penalty, to discourage hoarding it.
- Ang lesson: getting rid of cards has value in itself, even when you cannot win the hand. Better to dump three low singles than to sit on a clever five-card hand you never get to use.

Pusoy Dos genuinely rewards skill, more than most gambling games, because you make real decisions with incomplete information. The techniques below are the ones that actually move results.
- Control of the lead is the whole game. When you win a round, you set the shape everyone must answer, kaya huwag sayangin ang control cards nang walang plano.
- Count the 2s. There are only four, and once you know where the high singles have gone, you know whether your King is safe to lead.
- Shed low singles early, while opponents still hold enough cards to be forced to beat them. Mahirap itapon ang 3 or 4 sa dulo ng laro.
- Do not break a made five-card hand for a small gain. A full house you dismantled into a pair is usually a wasted round later.
- Watch hand sizes, not just your own cards. Kung may kalaban na dalawa na lang ang hawak, stop building and start blocking.
- Keep one genuine exit card, ideally the 2 of diamonds or a bomba, para may pang-sagot ka sa huli.
